There are all sorts of reasons we love the internet: amazingly absurd Etsy crafts, inane Pinterest projects, revenge, Tinder, and of course porn. But let’s not forget the main reason scientists put their heads together to create the Information Superhighway™: cat pictures.

It’s recently come to our attention that in Japan, cats sometimes wear kimonos. Very good call, cats. Not only are kimonos an impeccable sartorial choice, they also allow for nearly unrestricted freedom of movement when pouncing into cardboard boxes or otherwise meme-ing. Do they cover the gross feline butthole? We’re not sure. But that’s why there are these.
