This mystical light by Icelandic designer Kristin Birna Bjarnadottir is a sight to behold. It is suspended from the ceiling by fishing line, and appears to float in midair. Constructed out of reflective material, the Illuminant is lit not from within, but from below by an LED light on the floor. The color of the lamp can be altered by changing the glass filters that are included, in red, violet, blue, and brown.
We love this lamp for its eerie yet calming appearance and inventive design.

We want to pass on our huge congratulations to architect and visual artist extraordinaire, Paul Raff, for being awarded the Royal Architecture Institure of Canada's Allied Arts Medal and an award for innovation.
Paul's excellence comes as no surprise to us; we've seen him work wonders as the creative force behind our Rock This House transformation.
We've all heard of fold-out beds, but fold-out entire rooms? Too wicked.
Ilja Oelschlagel, the genius who designed this "Compact Kitchen," will soon be revered by urbanites (and other people crammed into shoebox-sized apartments) everywhere. Imagine being able to transform your teeny studio apartment into a dinner party-ready space, all by folding out some furniture.
Sure, its appearance is pretty Spartan and bland, but throw on a tablecloth, light some candles, serve a great meal, and make use of what might be the most inspired design ever.

Watch this video for a sneak peek of our brand new series, Rock This House, starring Nadia G and the transformation of her dream home from a plummer’s warehouse to a Bitchin’ pad. This show is about the next generation of reno, DIY and décor – but with all the comedy and bitchin’ attitude you know and love.
Today's craft is all about combining glamour with the mundane by adding some glitz to the lamest things you own.
For example, there's clearly nothing cool about asthma. And, as any sufferer knows, the asthma inhaler isn't exactly the hippest tool to be toting. Sure it could save your life, but it's more likely to cramp your style.
