Rock This Look Rock This Look: Anxiety-Stricken Soups

RTL-anxiety-thumbNadia G gets it done every week – dishing out delectable dishes, big laughs and topping it all off with Bitchin’ style. On tonight’s episode Nadia G’s look borrows from the goth/vampire aesthetic, minus looking like a complete nerd. It comprises of a fitted, constructed jacket that means business, contrasted with beat-up skinny jeans. We compliment the ensemble with purple vampy accents and some awesome jewelry pieces to tie everything together. It’s all about balance…

Getting the look: From Top to Bottom

Vintage Brooch

Nadia G loves vintage brooches, especially those made from aurora borelais crystals. Most people think a brooch is worn on the chest. No siree Giuseppe! It should be worn high up between the nook of your collar bone and shoulder. It’s worn this way so people can appreciate the brooch without looking like they’re staring at your rack. Also, if you’re wearing busy brooch, nix the necklace, there’s fine line between fabulous and crazy aunt. Check out some of these awesome finds on Ebay.

Light Shadow & MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick.

It’s best to pair an intense eye with a pale lipstick/gloss, and a pale eye with an intense lip. Nadia G’s lip shade for this episode is none other than MAC’s classic Ruby Woo lipstick. It’s a matte lipstick that is famous for its stay-put texture, and in-your-face color. Rock this lip with subtle silver-grey or lavender shadow for balance.

Insta-Dri Sally Hansen Nail Polish

‘Lively Lavender’ can be found at any pharmacy with a decent nail polish section. This shade reminds us of ‘Thrills’ gum, and the color is just nasty enough to be cool. As the name implies it dries ultra-fast, so if you’re on the go, this polish is for you. The brush is huge, which covers your nails in a flash, the polish is non-streaky, and available in a variety of Bitchin’ shades.

Miss Sixty Zip Shot Jeans

Everyone needs at least one pair of luxury jeans. We wear jeans so often that you gotta think of them as an investment piece. A great pair of jeans can heighten a simple tshirt, or add the perfect amount of attitude to your business looks. These sexy skinny Miss Sixty jeans are decked with a V-panel on the leg, which makes them ultra slimming, and ultra hot.

Betsey Johnson ‘Chez Rose’ Bikini Top.

This might be the cutest piece in the Nadia G ensemble. The ‘Chez Rose’ bikini top offers great support, stunning cleavage, and looks fabulous as bathing suit or as worn in the episode, as a mock-bustier. Unfortunately, we here at Bitchin’ Kitchen have a hunch that this particular print is discontinued. However, since Betsy Johnson underwire bikini tops are the best ever, we found a place where you can find similar styles here. We know, we’re awesome.

Lipservice Psycho Circus Jacket

Lipservice pieces rock, too bad this particular number is discontinued. Fear not, we may have found just the place that still carries them:  The trick to wearing Goth pieces – and looking sane while doing so – is to avoid going for the entire top to bottom ‘Emo-Satan’ look. Instead, go for one Goth piece and work it into your outfit to create an edgy, but not over-done look.

Rocket Dog Purple Pumps

Nadia is a big fan of bright/colorful shoes – in fact she says it’s a definite must-have. Vibrant colors or unique looking heels add flair to plain t-shirt and jeans ensemble and even adds a bitchin’ finishing touch to more sophisticated looks. Check out these Rocket Dog Pumps or shop vintage for similar rockin’ looks.

Aquaskye ‘Alpine’ Ring

Nadia completes this Anxiety Stricken look with a big fat ring decked out in shiny gold and 4 big facetted clear Swarovski crystals. Since Bitchin’ Lifestyle advises again wearing a necklace when showing off a fabulous brooch, the idea is to go big with rings instead. For awesome bling similar to Nads’, check out  more styles at Aqua Skye.
