Top Five Nadia’s Epic Facebook Smackdowns

| Friday, 6 February 2015 19:30

One of the reasons we love Nadia G. is her sharp tongue. She’s quick, blunt, and always speaks her mind. Sometimes that leads to some pretty epic Facebook exchanges. For this Top Five, we went through some recent Facebook exchanges and picked out the gems. You’re welcome.

Never underestimate Nadia.

Not long ago, Nadia posted that she was looking for an Los Angeles-based drummer. To explain the style she was looking for, she made a comparison to Dave Grohl, the epic percussionist for Nirvana and, later, Foo Fighters. Unfortunately, a lot of Grohl fans got super butthurt. There were responses along the lines of “Grohl for President…Nuff…” and comments imploring her to listen to him again with fresh ears. Take a look:

Nads later clarified her feelings on Grohl so people would stop their crying:

After a court decision overturned a law banning foie gras, Nadia posted a clip of Anthony Bourdain talking about the ethics of foie gras and challenging the view that it’s a downright barbaric practice. Her point: There are much, much bigger problems in the food world than ducks being fed too much. But, as anyone who’s used Facebook knows, this was way too controversial for people to resist. Here’s the exchange — and Nadia’s sharp retort:

No matter where Nadia goes, creepy dudes seem to follow her. We know from moderating social media that some of these guys can be downright disgusting. While drooling on their keyboards (we imagine), they told her to model the shoes, complained about the post of an advertisement instead of a sult But so far none of us have been able to tell them off as well as Nadia:

Harsh, but true.

2. Men and violence, a classic combination

Because this is Facebook, this of course sparked a lot of furious comments — and a lot of mansplainin’. The ensuing conversation led to a few epic burns, including a then-timely one about the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris:

And then this one-two punch:

1. What color is your name? Get out of the gene pool.

Nads didn’t even have to reply to a single dumb commenter to drop this bomb. It’s perhaps her most concise, hilarious burn yet.
