The See-Through Bathroom

The see-through bathroom is actually a working art piece entitled “Don’t Miss A Sec” created by Venice-born artist Monica Bonvicini. The concept is simple.
This is basically a Port-O-Potty that gets set up in the middle of busy squares or intersections, and is designed to allow you to continue watching what’s going on around you as you go about your business.
The entire thing is constructed using two-way mirrors, and while people on the outside are only able to see their reflections staring back at them, the person on the inside can see everything around them as if they were in a giant glass box.
Not recommended for the bashful as you can pretty much guarantee that a good contingent of the people walking by will either come right up to the glass pretending to look intently at you, use the mirrored surface to pick poppy seeds out of their teeth as you pee, or just point and laugh to give you the most awkward experience possible.
Sky-High Urinals

Guys, if the world’s been rough on you lately and you find yourself getting the urge to take a big leak all over it, head to the public urinals in Tokyo’s JR Tower.
Located in the northeast corner of the 38th floor, the men’s bathroom has its urinals lined up in front of large picture windows so that those relieving themselves get an unbelievable high-rise view of Sapporo City in its entirety
The Golden Throne

I’ve often heard people joke that they have such expensive tastes that one of the first things they would do if they won the lottery would be to go out and buy themselves a solid-gold toilet. For those who share that opinion but still haven’t landed a winning ticket, check out the bathroom at the Swisshorn Gold Palace in Hong Kong, China.
Created as a display of craftsmanship and intended to help promote tourism in Hong Kong, not only does this bathroom have a golden toilet, but it also has a golden bathtub, golden towel racks and golden everything else.
It’s part of a 7,000 square foot suite that cost 50 million dollars to build and used 3 tons of gold in its construction. You can book it for $25,000 a night, or look at it for a slightly more reasonable $3 a tour.
The Sink/Toilet Combo

Take one look at this and tell me it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. This simple L-shaped concept accomplishes a ton when it comes to bathroom design. Not only is it sleek and stylish, but combining these two completely essential bathroom fixtures into one helps save space when there’s not a lot to go around.
Not to mention that it’s environmentally friendly too, in that all the water that would have been wasted when your faucet is running now goes right into the toilet tank to be used for the next flush. Smart thinking in a sleek package.
